Ten avatars of Vishnu, hand-drawn in a soft, almost cherubic style — Matsya the fish, Kurma the tortoise, Varaha the boar, Narasimha the lion-man, Vamana, Parashurama, Rama, Krishna, Buddha, and Kalki on his white horse. Each is named in Devanagari beneath its feet. At the centre, Vishnu reclines on Adishesha — the cosmic serpent — in the Anantashayana pose, holding the whole composition together.
